You may have decided that now is the time for you to get Invisalign — congrats on taking that first step! But now, you may have some questions about what is next and how it all works.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a custom-made, clear tray aligner. Each Invisalign tray is uniquely made by 3D computer imaging technology for each mouth by a custom mold. Depending on the patient, the custom-made tray is changed every two weeks for about six to 18 months.
Who needs Invisalign?
Invisalign can help with many common dental problems, including:
- Crowded teeth or spaces between teeth
- Overbite, open bite or cross bite
- To achieve generally straighter teeth
How does Invisalign affect my daily routine?
Invisalign is a great, non-invasive choice for fixing your dental problems. It should not affect your daily routine at all, especially after you get used to the fit. Since it is custom-made for you, the fit should be comfortable for your mouth. It is easily removed when you eat, brush your teeth, or floss, and it is virtually impossible to see when it is in your mouth. You will have to maintain the cleanliness of your Invisalign just as you do your other oral hygiene tools.
How do I get Invisalign?
If you have not done so already, you’ll need to make an appointment for a consultation with us. There, Dr. Altalib will be able to discuss with you Invisalign costs, insurance, and other general questions, and you will be able to see how your teeth will look like after finishing the treatment. From there, you can take the next steps to create your orthodontic plan and have your custom aligners fitted and made.
